Digital Catch Up...

The final catch up. My digital work.

So if you followed me before, you might remember that I was working on a Vexel Bumblebee piece in Photoshop. Well, its finally finished and here it is...

Bumblebee

I was really happy that this was finally done. I used tutorials on DeviantArt by Donbenni to help me through it. He does loads of really cool vexel artworks. I think it turned out well and I can't wait to try another car! Was thinking about doing the Impala from supernatural, Ooh or a mustang! what do you think?

Next up is a couple of typography pieces. The first one is called 2010 and is for the Text Art in 2010 competition on DeviantArt. It was done completely in Photoshop.

2010

Alive

The one above is called Alive. I actually did this before 2010. I aketched the text out then scanned it and went over it with the pen tool inPs. It took a while, but it was worth ir I think, instead of using a font from the computer. I did about 4 or 5 lighting tutorials from the web and Advanced Photoshop magazines before I even attemted these as I really want to get good at lighting effects and really understand how to use Ps to the best of its capabilities.

This next piece has to be my favourite. After complaining that my artistic Flash skills were not that great (I've only ever used it for animating) I wanted to shut myself up by trying. Fortunately my boyfriend is a Flash genius and gave me a quick rundown on how to go about creating really clean vector images. So after lots of swearing and shouting (luckily Peter never heard as he was wearing his headphones that could block the sound of an atomic blast!) I came out with this angry wee sod!
The idea came of an angry cupcake came to me in work for some odd reason. I sketched it in the dark there (I work in a theatre), took it home and scanned it into Ps. As soon as I started I realised I wasn't going to get the vector look I was wanting, hence the complaining about my Flash skills, or lack thereof! lol

The Angry Cupcake

I thought he would be angry because his frosting is pink and he really wanted to be blue! Hope you like him :D

So thats the end of the catch up with Daisy*B! Next time it will all be new stuff, lets just hope I don't take too long :P
At the moment I'm working on a logo for a band called Aiteal and a group of photographs for my Auntie of my wee cousins surfing. Stay tuned to see how I get on.

New Tattoo Work...

Since the last time I posted on my old Blogger account, I've done a few new tattoo designs. I'm still waiting on photographs for most of them, but will post them when they arrive.
These 2 are entries for a tattoo design competition on Deviant Art. The idea is to design a mark that a vampire would leave if you were bitten.
I got the design idea after looking at an everlasting knot.

This is my Brianne Design I did for someone in the States. She wanted a yellow daisy with some flourishes and stars.

This is the Rian Design, a variant of one of my triskeles I designed about a year ago now.

Deanta an Alba means "Made in Scotland" in Gaelic (Scots Gaidhlig). It was supposed to be just the text, but we added in the celtic knot as I thought it made the design more complete.

I've also been asked quite a few times if various people can use my Crystal Design.

Please note:
These are personal tattoos for various clients and as such I will not give permission for others to use these designs.

If you wish to have a custom tattoo design of your very own I am happy to take commissions. click here for info, or drop me a line daisybdesign@live.co.uk

Sewing time...

Hola!

Back again,
and this time with some sewing. I've been doing a sewing class for a while now and for the first project I was making a 1950's style dress complete with petticoat. Here are some photos of the finished dress:

It turned o
ut really well, a wee bit baggy, but that was because of a mistake woth seam allowances at the beginning. I think if I made it again I would make the bodice more fitted.
The next project was a pair of trousers, which I really wanted to make out of tweed, but the tweed was so expensive in Mandors. They are now made of a linen blend and are very light so I don't think I'll be wearing them any time soon lol! I haven't got any pictures yet, but I'll get them up as soon as I do.
For my third project I'm planning on making a shirt for my boyfriend, so we're off to Glasgow next week to get him some material!

In my spare time though, I've been making bags and brooches:

And now for my greatest
sewing achievement yet... The Goonies bag! Oh I love it! I've had this Goonies Tshirt for years and grew out of it a long time ago. I kept it though so I could one day turn it into a bag and that day has finally come lol! I've put a few pics in cos I'm so proud of it hee hee :P

Hope you like!

Next...

Ok, so here is some more work.

After finishing the DC Ladies, I got a bit inspired and felt like doing some more so I made a list and picked the ones I wanted to do most, with a view to continue my list whenever I had time, I still have the list and will hopefully start to check Ladies off once I get some more spare time to do my own thing.

So, first on my list was Sleeping Beauty.

Possibly my favour
tie of the Disney Princess, in the blue dress of course, cos the pink is not so nice! I see you get the reversible dresses now for wee girls, why we didn't have that when I was wee I don't know! I would love to make the dress once my dressmaking skills are better lol!

Next I did Ariel from the Little Mermaid

I was quite c
huffed with this one as it turned out really nice, esp love the texture I put on the rock! Wheee Happy me!

Next up was kick ass Alice from Resident Evil. I know these movies get a lot of flack, but nothing will take my love of Milla (and her costumes) away lol!
I did the Resident Evil: Extinction costume for the sole reason of absolutely loving her boots! (no pun intended)
I tried to buy a pair very similar, but unfortunately the company don't ship outside the US.
Anyway, here she is

So thats it for now from the Favourite Ladies series. I do hope to add Belle, Ugly Betty and Rogue... one day!

Newest Work...

Okily Dokily.

So I thought for a catch up, I'd post my latest works. Going to do it in bits and pieces cos I've done quite a bit since I last blogged properly so 1st is the DC piece that I blabbed on about ages ago, that never got finished. Well guess what... I finished it... sort of.
I
nstead of one big piece I did them individually. Then because I had so much fun I added a few extra to make it a "Favourite Ladies" series. I hope to continue this series on and off for as long as I feel like doing it, but I'll post up the first few just now.

1st up is Harley and Ivy

Probabl
y my 2 most favourite DC ladies.

Next is Batgirl and Lois

Huntress and Catwoman

Supergir
l and Wonder Woman

I will hopefully get them altogether in a collective piece, but as of yet I've not done it lol.

Anyways, I hope you like my Favourite DC Ladies and I'll add the extras later, for now though...

I'm Back...

So after venturing over to Tumblr and Wordpress, I'm back on Blogger!
but this time I want to keep this blog exclusively for my work and projects, be it sewing, freelance or turorials I've used, pretty much anything I do creative really.
I'll be keeping a hold of my Tumblr though, for the random things I post like funny movies or pics and music. So feel free to have a peek there too.

I'll put a wee Rss feed on the side bar so folk can see whats happening over there! Right now there's a great wee movie starring Zachary Quinto taking a hostage and getting a bit too close! lol

Anyways I'll be updating this more often now and will hopefully get into customising it to suit my stuff.
