Most Embarrassing!

Day 10 of the Blog Everyday in May challenge is to share your most enbarrassing moment(s). I think I'll be quick in sharing a list of the embarrassing things I do on a regular basis to save prolonged embarrassment. So here we go... facepalms at the ready!

*WARNING over use of exclamation marks to emphasise embarrassment!!!*

Falling in public
This has happened a few times recently - mainly down to my crap work shoes. I've fallen twice spectactulary and very publicly right outside the front door of the theatre. Needless to say that after Tuesdays fantastic fall, witnessed by many, I went and bought new shoes for work!

Wrong Door
Not the push/pull thing, but the wrong bathroom! How many times I've just headed for the wrong one and worse gone in is unreal!! I remember once when I was really young I walked in to the ASDA bathroom, shouted "Mum" saw a guy, ran away and never spoke of it again. This incident has led me {to this day} to constantly double check the sign on the door - even if I know it's right.
However...
Last year we went go karting, I needed to go before putting the jumpsuit on so I went. I'm in the cubicle and the door to the bathroom opens. I went to wash my hands and saw a man standing at the urinal - thank God it was Peter!! *facepalm!

Compliments {blush}
I am rubbish at accepting compliments, I it's think due to my shyness. I just don't know how to act, so I get all red and embarrassed say a quiet "thank you" and bolt. - Definitely not cool!

Can you count?!
As with tradition in the theatre world ice creams are sold at the interval, which I have the pleasure of doing most nights I'm in the Kings. It's not complicated they're either £4 or £3, but last night!! I had a complete brain malfunction and couldn't figure out how much change to give this poor woman who ws obviously suffering due to the heat. Completely embarrassing in front of a huge queue of folk gasping for a way to cool down.
Done anything embarrassing lately?

One Moment

Today in the Everyday In May challelenge is to share one moment in our day, so I'm spending my moment with a read and a cuppa.

Working from home most of the time I'm still trying getting used to managing my time properly. So it is always nice to get a wee break and take sometime for myself. Usually I'll take half an hour to get some lunch, a cup of tea and read something. {I'll post my first book review tomorrow} Today it's my lovely Oh Comely mag that arrived on the mat this morning.

A Little Piece of Advice

Day 8 and the blogging prompt for today is A Piece of advice you have for others. I don't consider myself to be all that wise, but here goes.

I'm writing this to my 16 year old self and there's so much I would say. Work harder at school, the answers to my maths exam
, don't date that guy. Above all that though, I think the one piece of advice I would give my self would be to care a little less.

I know that sounds cruel, but what I mean is care a little less about what people might think. I used to care a lot - too much about what people thought of me, I guess all teenagers do. If I had really taken this advice to heart it would have made me more confident and out going. I was soooo shy - I hated it!

I'm still pretty shy and the thought of giving presentations or talking in front of groups larger than 5 stills scares me, so being more confident or putting myself out of my comfort zone during school might have made things a bit easier for me now.

So putting that into words, my advice is: Do something that scares you once in a while and step out of you comfort zone. Try something new and don't be afraid to be yourself!

Now I'm off to take my own advice and watch a werewolf movie.

What I'm Most Afraid Of

I didn't know where to start with this one. A phobia? Something a little daft? Something profound? And then I thought profound could lead to a fear of death {a tad morbid} and one of my phobias really is something daft. So let’s go with daft!

So hear it is dear reader, one of my biggest phobias and I beg you to try and not laugh at me. {Peter already finds this hilarious and uses it to frighten, no end!}

Lycaonphobia

Cycle of the Werewolf
That's right, I am, quite literally terrified of werewolves! I know they don't exist, but they are the one thing in horror films I just can't handle and believe me, looking for accompanying pictures for this post was most uncomfortable.

It stems from an early childhood fear of Michael Jackson's Thriller. I can remember hiding under the covers while listening to that door creek coming from my little Fisher Price cassette player, but that wasn't the real beginning of the fear. Oh no! - It came from the music video.

Cycle of the Werewolf
It was on TV late one night, when at the age of 5 or 6 I had snuck downstairs to find my dad watching the most terrifying thing I'd ever seen - Michael Jackson in a werewolf mask!

I think eventually I could have got over it, but not long after I somehow saw a clip from American Werewolf in London - the one where David opens his eyes in hospital and they're all yellow and wolf like - I'm getting the heebee jeebies just typing this!

Other movies and images have cemented this fear over the years; a Stephen King’s Cycle of the Werewolf, The Howling. Even to this day I get a little uneasy at movies. The new Wolfman movie, Dog Soldiers, Van Hellsing even - the latter being the most pathetic.

Anyway enough madness. I'm hoping there is some fellow blogger that shares my {really daft} fear or has an equally mad phobia of things that aren't real.

Leave a comment to let me know I'm not alone.
